Gifted and Talented (GATE)

Grades K-12

Boerne ISD screens all kindergartners in December/January; those who score at set levels on a norm-referenced test are assessed further, and kindergarten placements are made before March 1. Grades 1-11 have a referral window (November 2 - December 17 on the district page) from parents, teachers, students or others; assessments are in the spring and placements in May. Students meeting the district standard on 3 of 5 criteria (test scores, product ratings, teacher ratings) are served.
