Denver Public Schools: gifted testing
Gifted and Talented (GT) and Highly Gifted magnets
Grades PreK-12DPS screens all 1st and 5th graders each fall with the Naglieri General Ability Tests (full test in grade 1, verbal part in grade 5). Students in other grades are tested after a nomination: pre-K with the NNAT, K-6 with the full NGAT, grades 7-12 with the CogAT. A student may take only one cognitive test per school year. Scores at the 95th percentile or higher make a student eligible for Highly Gifted magnet programs.
