Grades K-12

K-2 is a talent development program; formal identification starts at the end of second grade. Every second grader takes the CogAT in the spring, and students who meet the screening criteria then take the Iowa Assessments in reading and math. Third graders who missed the spring CogAT, and students new to the district, are screened in the first six weeks of school.
