Leander Independent School District: gifted testing
QUEST (Gifted & Talented)
Grades K-12All kindergarteners are screened in January, after GT teachers lead at least four whole-class thinking lessons. Students in grades 1-11 can be referred by anyone; referred students are screened with achievement and observation tools, and those who pass are assessed once in the spring (achievement, cognitive ability and creativity tests may be used). Elementary has one screening and testing window a year; dates are on each campus QUEST page.
