Gifted/Talented (G/T) Services

Lewisville ISD gives an online universal assessment to all 2nd and 4th graders in the fall; it replaces the ability-test step that otherwise follows a referral. In K-2, campus G/T facilitators teach planned lessons in every classroom and use the data to build a talent pool. Teachers, parents, students, counselors or administrators can request testing during the year (referrals go to the campus G/T Facilitator and close at the end of the 3rd nine weeks). Qualification uses district aptitude and achievement tests plus characteristic scales, observations and work samples; private testing is not used.
