Grades K-12McAllen ISD's fall GT testing is for currently enrolled K-5 students not already identified. Parents apply with the GT Referral Application and consent; the cognitive abilities test is the CogAT (nonverbal, verbal and quantitative). For 2026-27 the referral period closed September 25, 2026, and testing began October 8, 2026.
