Gifted education

Grades K-12

Florida's rule makes a student eligible for gifted services with an IQ two standard deviations or more above the mean on an individually given intelligence test (130 on most tests), plus a need for the program and gifted characteristics. Districts may also run an approved plan for under-represented groups; Miami-Dade's Plan B for grades 1-3 uses a points matrix (gifted characteristics checklist, achievement percentile, IQ and a creativity rating).
