Gifted and Talented (GT)
Grades K-12Socorro ISD universally screens all 2nd graders with a CogAT screening form in October; students who meet the screening criteria are evaluated further. For grades K-11, teachers, counselors, administrators, parents or others refer online in November (the link opens November 1 and closes the Friday before Thanksgiving), with parent permission. A creative thinking test is given in December and a cognitive test in January-February; the placement committee meets in February.
