Gifted and Talented (GT)

Grades K-12

Spring Branch ISD evaluates students from the fall of kindergarten (not pre-K). Parents submit an online referral from the start of the school year to mid-October. Level 1 gathers teacher observations, test data and a parent survey; Level 2 is a norm-referenced abilities test (verbal, quantitative, nonverbal), with the gifted range starting at a score of 130. Evaluations run October-January and results reach parents by March 1. Level 3 (by invitation) is one-on-one IQ testing for highly gifted services (SPIRAL/Spring Branch Academic Institute).
